When Jesus’s followers were baptized and they walked out into the Jordan river in front of all the people, they were making a bold public declaration that from now on they associated with the name and teachings of Jesus, that they were one of his. We wait until children are old enough to make a decision for themselves that they believe in Jesus, they believe he died to forgive them and they want to follow him for their life. We also baptize adults believers.
